NC DOT Working street signs

HOA Members, please be aware the NC DOT has started adjusting signage within the neighborhood. It is important to take extra caution within the neighborhood, especially pedestrians and golf-carts.

On October 6, 2016 the NC DOT took charge of the following streets or portions thereof: Airedale Trail, Adams Point Dr., Suntree Lane, Fieldtrial Circle, Fawn Hill Ct., Sporting Club Dr., Meadowmist Dr., Club Hill Dr., Morning Mist Dr.

After numerous requests, the DOT is now starting work to replace or correct street signs and install speed limit signs. This work may include changes to intersections and the 4-way stops.

The HOA Board has emphasized our concerns regarding the need for speed limits and the 4-way stops, however, some may be eliminated. We can appeal changes after a period of time, however new traffic patterns will in place.

Here are some key points to remember: 1) You must have a drivers license to operate a vehicle on public roads, i.e. kids should not be driving golf-carts, 2) Only state inspected vehicles are to operate on state-maintained roads, 3) The HOA retains the power to enforce parking restrictions on roads within the development; the state is responsible for general traffic enforcement and road maintenance.

Golf Cart Operations

Adams Point Residents,

Golf carts can be driven in the neighborhood given the requirements of Article VIII, Section 16 of the covenants are met. The covenant clearly states the golf cart must be licensed for public highway use and operated by a person having a valid drivers licenses.
There have been several incidents in which children or teenagers have been seen driving through the neighborhood. This is a violation and a very dangerous issue. Children and/or teenagers are not familiar with vehicle operation and road safety, and don’t have enough experience to be operating a vehicles on public roads. With the present challenge of speeding in the neighborhood, this only adds to the potential for an incident.

The HOA kindly ask that you adhere to the covenants; violators will be fined.
